I’m a fightin’ fundy
According to this survey, I’m a fightin’ fundy. Although I’d disagree with the negative connotation that is inferred, I’d probably have to agree with the assessment, as I do believe in “the infallibility of the Bible not only in matters of faith and morals but also as a literal historical record, holding as essential to Christian faith belief in such doctrines as the creation of the world, the virgin birth, physical resurrection, atonement by the sacrificial death of Christ, and the Second Coming.” (Dictionary.com)
I have to admit, though, I didn’t know what the Regulative Principle of Worship or the Westminster Confession of Faith were, so I just picked the middle. I guess my answers to those questions might have had an impact on the results.
For due diligence, I have found that the Regulative Principle of Worship stated simply says, “True worship is only commanded by God; false worship is anything not commanded.” I would tend to disagree with this as I don’t think worship involves a set of rules to follow. The Westminster Confession of Faith is apparently a Calvinist thing, but I could probably agree with everything in it except for the things directly related to Calvinism, so I’d probably have answered in the affirmative for this one.

I won’t take the label fighting fundy as degoratory or insulting either; in fact, I’d be delighted!
I’ve done the test once before, but cannot remember now what I was classified as. Probably heretic of the Roman Church or stubborn fundie or something I suppose.
Might just do it again as a post when I’m dry and out of topics.
How did you know my motivation behind this post?
I was labeled a “Fightin’ Fundy” too, although I didn’t really see how a lot of those questions were relevant. Anyway, now I can use this label whenever I’m asked about my “religion.”
I didn’t think the most of the questions were relevant, either. It did label you and me “fightin’ fundies,” though, so it can’t be too far off the mark, can it?
Label me Moderate/Conservative.
Fightin’ Fundies is high-larious. ;-)
You scored as Evangelical Presbyterian
You’re an Evangelical Presbyterian, probably a member of a PCA church. Sound theology and reverent worship are important to you, but so are outreach and ministry to the community. You are likely to be from the deep South, and perhaps at one time you were Southern Baptist.
Evangelical Presbyterian 85%
Moderate Evangelical 75%
Baptist 60%
Reformed Baptist 55%
Conservative Evangelical 55%
High Church Nomad 55% ???? What the heck is this one?
Presby – Old School 50%
Fightin’ Fundy 50%
High Church Nomad…no idea.
Are you from the deep South, Scott?
I scored as simply Baptist. Although it did say I was a “well-informed” Baptist.
My readers struggled with the “high church nomad” as well.
This is how the quiz describes it:
“You were raised as some kind of evangelical, but you’ve started to appreciate other forms of Christian piety. Specifically, you’re starting to think that Roman Catholics aren’t as crazy as you once thought they were. You probably won’t end up going home to Rome, but Canterbury has piqued your interest.”
Apparently it is a person who is drifting (hence the “nomad”) from their evangelical roots toward Catholicism and/or Anglicanism (hence the “high church”).
Just out of curiousity, whose picture did the quiz show for the “fighting fundies?”
Thanks for the clarification. The picture shown for a fightin’ fundy was an unflattering one of Jerry Falwell.
That’s hilarious, casey. I know many true “fightin” fundy’s that would question Falwell’s credentials to the club.
Nawth Cahlina. Also spent a good portion of my life in Fla, Tx, and Ark.
LOL, Scott.
Hm… I’d say there was a vibe about the post that said much about your ‘motivation’.
Heh!
God bless, brother.
Hi Casey, I took the quiz too, and it classified me correctly. Baptist.
I am a Baptist. Though what that really means, I don’t know as far as the quiz is concerned. I know what it means to me, but anyway. Fun quiz. Blessings to you!
It does seem to be pretty accurate…
