Israel Affirms Hard Line on Palestinians
The AP calls Israel’s position that it will not deal with parties refusing to recognize its right to exist, or seeking its destruction a “hard line.” Jay Nordlinger from National Review put it nicely when he said, “And what might a soft line be? National suicide?” When blacks were fighting for the right to be recognized as persons, I wonder if the AP would have described that as a “hard line” position…
The headlines they use to describe Israel in the mainstream media are ridiculous. How can anyone negotiate with another party that refuses to even acknowledge their right to exist? How can any sane person encourage someone to engage in such utterly pointless talks?
