Vice President Huckabee?

The New York Times thinks it might be a good idea for Rudy Giuliani to run with Mike Huckabee. They say they “balance each other out.” Do they really think that conservatives are going to vote for Giuliani just because he’s got a conservative vice president? Not me. I will be voting for someone else if that happens. Lately I’ve been thinking that I might even vote Democrat in that case. If I vote for a non-viable third party candidate and the Republicans end up winning with a liberal candidate, I think we can say goodbye to the conservative influence in the Republican party. It would probably be better for a Democrat to win in that case. At least then we’d get only conservatives as Republican nominees for the next few elections.

What if Ron Paul ran as an independent against Rudy and Hillary?

I don’t think so. First, he’d have to stand a chance. Second, he’d have to convince me that I could trust him with national security. I’ve been thinking about whether I could vote for a Democrat, and I think I’ve changed my mind about that. As much as I would hate to have a liberal Republican in the White House, I think it would be even scarier at this time to have a Democrat there.

I like Paul because of his conservative positions … did you know that he was one of the few republicans in congress that supported Reagan in 1976?

If it comes down to Rudy … I simply will not vote for him … but I would vote for Fred … it will get interesting in a month or so.

It certainly will. It’s too early to be making voting decisions yet.

A Rudy/Huckabee ticket would mean a shoe in for just about any Democrat I think. As a Dem I have to say that if Clinton appears on the ticket the only way I wouldn’t vote Rep would be if Romney or Rudy were the pres nominee.
