I'm afraid I can't answer that one, Bob. I've decided that I'd rather have McCain than Obama. Joseph Farah says we should write in a third party candidate to protest the poor choices we have this year. Everyone has to vote his or her own conscience. Personally, I hope McCain gets it then decides he doesn't want a second term and that Palin runs in 2012.

I agree Casey.. on abortion McCain wins with me.. just like Bush.. is that a good thing? Do I ignore all of McCain's Bush-like tendancies because of who he might appoint to the SC.. IF he has a chance to appoint one? Guess that is the question and why I am still happily undecided.

Almost everyone agrees that PBA is wrong, so that doesn't make Kennedy a conservative. The fact remains that he'd uphold RvW if the case ever went in front of the SC. That's why no one has tried to bring a case in front of them yet.

I know there's no guarantee about what the justices will do after appointed, Bob, but McCain wouldn't be signing the Freedom of Choice Act into law, either. That is something he would veto but that Obama would sign gleefully. At least McCain has promised to appoint justices in the mold of Scalia and Alito.

I agree Casey - Kennedy is a wild card.. but last year he did vote conservative in upholding the Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act passed by Congress in 2003.

Just remember that uber-conservative Reagan appointed Kennedy and O'Conner.. there is no guarantee that McCain would appoint a conservative leaning justice but a better chance than if Obama is elected.

Conservative majority? Who's the fifth? The conservatives are Thomas, Roberts, Scalia and Alito. Kennedy sometimes gets labeled a conservative because he was appointed by Reagan, but he's anything but a conservative. He sides with the liberal justices on the issues of abortion and gay rights. We replace one of the five liberal justices and we'll have a shot at overturning RvW.

I don't think that the high court will take on Roe.. it would be nice if they did.. they have a conservative majority.. they could take it on right now.

I think it would be possible if we could ever get a solid majority of real Republicans and not just RINOs. Bills like that come up occasionally, but they never have a chance of making it. I think the best strategy for now is to get the Supreme Court to hand the issue back to the states. There are plenty of states that will outlaw it.

I don't like Obama's views on this. I have been wondering what the chances are of getting a Constitutional Abortion Ban established. McCain supports such a ban but I don't think that he has ever proposed such an amendment. Do you know anything about such an amendment? Do you think that it could ever get passed? If not then what do you think will ever happen?
