These folks tend to be a bit closed-minded, and I have yet to find an effective way of engaging them in a productive conversation. I think that the church ceded our prophetic role in society when we joined the Republican party. It is sad that we in the church are really no different than the rest of our culture when it comes to morality issues like divorce percentages. I guess that is why many have a disdain for us.. we talk a good talk but often fail to deliver.. of course then there are those plain old dogmatic liberals that you talked about.
