Still not comfortable with Romney
I absolutely will not vote for Giuliani, even if his opponent is Hillary Clinton. Some conservatives have come to the conclusion that Mitt Romney really has changed, but I still have strong reservations, most of which are summed up in Romney Secrets The Media Are Hiding From You by Gregg Jackson at Townhall.com. The fact that his healthcare plan included abortion coverage even after his so-called epiphany which changed his mind on abortion should give prolifers cause for concern.

Lincoln, I am more concerned about character than religious persuasion.. I would vote for Romney but not Rudy.. and I am appalled that Crazy Pat endorsed Adulterous Rudy.. I guess for some religious leaders it is all about backing a winner.. at any cost
Seriously! What could possibly have been Pat’s reason for coming out in support of Rudy before the primaries? I wouldn’t agree, but I’d understand if he thought he was voting for the lesser of two evils, but out of the current Republican field, Rudy is the worst of all evils! It’s incomprehensible why he would support Rudy over the others.

Pat Robertson is a nutcase. He even suggested the Chinese Government was doing the right thing by forcing its citizens to abort their children in order to manage the population.

I have to admit that when I first saw Romney, I thought “used car salesman” (not that there’s anything wrong with that). But I heard him speak on the issues and he seems to be the best of the top Republicans. Of course he could just be a good liar, but the whole country knows where he claims to stand now. What good would it do him to suddenly swerve left on all the issues once he’s president? That would ruin his reputation, and he’d go down in history as the ultimate flip-flopper.
Who would be the better choice? Huckabee? I don’t think he has what it takes to defeat Billary.
I guess being a king-maker is still an important for some Christian leaders.. power is so intoxicting.. even when the politicians are just playing you it can make you feel so important.

I know the Townhall article is skewed, but it expresses the very same reservations I have with Romney. He would not be the first politician to back peddle if he caved in on moral issues once elected to the presidency. Since he was able to throw in abortion coverage in his health plan even after he “realized” that abortion was wrong, I don’t see what would stop him from doing the same as president.
I do think Huckabee could beat Hillary. She has 50% negatives. That is going to be very hard to overcome. In order to get half the vote she has to convince everyone that doesn’t hate her to support her. Huckabee, on the other hand, is a very likable guy. Personally, I hope to see a Thompson-Huckabee ticket.
I think Pat endorsed Rudy because he wants him to lose.
