You're missing my point entirely. I must point out, however, that your claim that Saddam hated fundamental Islamists is completely false. You must have been misled by some of the liberal canards floating around. They say if you repeat something enough, eventually people will start to believe it. I guess it's true. The fact is that Saddam gave money to the families of suicide bombers in Palestine. He considered them heroes. And, while there is no direct evidence that Saddam was involved in the attacks of 9-11-2001, there is plenty of documentation of meetings/contact between high officials in his regime and members of al-Qaida.

Sorry, slick. The reason the "terrorists" weren't in Iraq was because Saddam brutally repressed them. They weren't basically settled only in mountainous regions in the north, where Saddam's power was weak. Saddam=secularist. He despised the fundamental Islamists.

I'm not talking about American deaths. You're correct that there wouldn't be American soldiers dying in Iraq if none had been sent there. I think they're there for a very good reason, but that's not what I want to discuss here.

We destroyed the system that kept them out? If the terrorists had wanted to murder people in Iraq before we got there they could have. Even if the terrorists wouldn't have been murdering innocent Iraqis had we not gone over there, it still doesn't change anything. The blame for murder falls on the murderer. It doesn't make it okay to kill your cousin because some foreigner makes you angry.

No one is saying that the US pulled the trigger. But if we weren't perpetuating Iraq with our military right now then there wouldn't be any deaths of American Soldiers at all. The problem that most people have with this war is that our Soldiers are dying, and they're there for no reason.

So Bush is responsible, as Commander IN Chief, for every single death that happens over there. I do think that its a morbid argument to make and uses sensationalism. But the point is valid.

"But most of the casualties are caused by terrorists blowing up fellow Muslims. How can the US be blamed for that?"

Uh, because the terrorists weren't there before we got there. We destroyed the system that kept them out. Why do you think recruitment for al Qaeda is so high since we've been there? We've given them a new training ground.

Come on, champ, pay attention.

Death toll is death toll if it was 1000 people dead and you were responsible for even 1 you are a contributor to the death toll. Christianity and the Law of the Ten Commandments is similar to that type of antithetical thinking. Where if you transgress one law you transgress them all and are considered guilty as a transgressor of the Law.
